How to Reach Beltar?

The nearest airport is Bagdogra and the railway station is New Jalpaiguri Station. The distance from Bagdogra airport is 54 km and the distance from New Jalpaiguri station is 57 km to Beltar

To reach here you have to come up to Kurseong, Tung station first and then you can book a car from there or call the resort and take their car. You can reach here by toy train from Siliguri to Tung station.

There are many shared cabs available from Siliguri junction or Darjeeling More. Get into any car going to Darjeeling and ask them to drop you in front of the Tung Post Office. It will cost Rs 150-200

Besides, you can directly reach this resort by hiring a car from New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri. Rent is approximately Rs. 3000. The distance of Beltaar from Kurshiang town is 12 km.

From Kurseong, the road to Dowhill goes up and straight to Darjeeling. After going a bit along the road to Darjeeling, 8-10 km will descend slightly towards the valley. The Belltaar is lower in height than its Kurseang. Beltar is 4 km from where the descent starts from Darjeeling Road.

On the Way to Beltar

There are two routes to Beltar. A short route via Rohini and a long route via Rangtong via Tindharia. It is best to book a car from Siliguri or New Jalpaiguri as cars are not always available for the 5 km resort after Kurshiang. Eagleview Point will be on the way.

From the Eagle View Point, the hill town will be spectacular with white clouds flying past and high mountains on one side. If you turn left from Kurseong‘s road, The estate is named Maharani Tea Estate. And this road is very low.

There is a beautiful resort surrounded by hills and tea plantations called Beltar Resort. A small river flows by and the sound of the river can be heard from the resort. It is one of the best places where you can experience nature so closely. There are very few resorts in such good locations.

High mountains surrounded by greenery and a river flowing in the back. From the Resort, tea plantation workers can be seen picking tea and bagging it.

Stay here at the Belter Resort. It is in a great location. There is a swimming pool with it. The water comes from the river and fills this swimming pool. This resort is in a low valley in the middle.

Belta Resort has a cottage system with many cottages arranged in a row. Tourists come here throughout the year and the cottages are almost filled up every time.

The price of Double Bed Cottages is around Rs. 3000 for two persons with complimentary breakfast. They have a restaurant for food. Food quality and price are both very good and reasonable.

People who live in or around Siliguri and love to visit will enjoy a day trip here more than other busy Darjeeling cities. The restaurant is right next to the reception. The small river that runs past the resort joins the Balasan River below.
