Either get off at New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri station and take Hill Cart Road towards Darjeeling. And even if going from Bagdogra to Darjeeling, Hill Cart Road is the main option. In all cases, one has to cross Siliguri city towards Darjeeling.

Different categories of private cars can be booked for Darjeeling travel such as Maruti van, alto, wagon R, and Santro among small cars etc. and big cars include Swift Dzire, Tata Sumo, Bolero, Ertiga, Xylo, Scorpio etc.
The bigger and more luxurious the car, the higher the rent. Each taxi stand has a fixed rate chart for the convenience of tourists, there are no metered taxis in Transport in darjeeling.
