Yelbong is considered a nature lovers paradise. This is the only canyon in North Bengal. This is a perfect place for those who want some trekking adventure in the lap of nature at a low budget and nearest to their hometown.

Yelbong is located in Kalimpong and was first explored by Francis Rai.

To reach this place, the nearest railway station is New Mal Junction. Also, the nearest bus station is New Mal. The distance from New Mall Junction to Yelbong is 30 km. Share vehicles are not available on this route. The car must be reservedβ€”2500 rupees from the car rental.

From New Mall Junction to Yelbong one has to take a new road from Bagrakot to Lolegaon. It is a little-known road. Which is still in progress.

Once the road is completed, it will take less than an hour and a half to travel from Malbazar to Lolegaon. The road to Yelbong runs through the entire forest.

After 18 km along the main road, Yelbong turns right. Seven kilometers to go. There is no mobile network here. And a big car is ideal for going on this road

There is a coffee shop while passing through this road. Accommodation is also available here along with meals.

Peaceful place in the lap of green nature.After that camping site after 4 km. This road has to be walked and takes approximately 45 minutes. The entire road is uphill.

The joy of walking on the Metho hilly road is different. Here you have to take a guide and porter with you. Do not rush while trekking.
