Then, see Mirik Monastery or Bokar Monastery from this place. The surrounding area with Mirik Lake looks wonderful. Pass Mirik Monastery and come to Mirik Lake. There is a park next to Mirik Lake, with an entry fee of Rs 20.

If you get on the bridge in the middle of the lake, you will get a great view of the lake from there. Boating is available in Mirik Lake. You can go around Mirik Lake on horseback and spend approximately Rs 300. Tall pine trees and a lake in the middle surround you.

How did The name ‘Tabakoshi’ Come from?

There is a small park next to the Rangbhang River. It has various types of trees and flowers. Quite some time can be spent sitting in this park. The place was named Rangbhang after the river Rangbhang.

In 1987 or 1988, Subash Ghising changed the name of this place to Tabakshi. There is a place with the same name in Nepal. The name ‘Tabakoshi‘ was later derived from ‘Tambakoshi‘. This is the history behind Tabakoshi.

What To See Near Tabakoshi Homestay?

There are extensive tea plantations here. Kurseong city can be seen from a distance. Green all around. Walk the hilly streets of the village and talk to the local people. Little boys are playing on the street.
